What is the difference between a cast resin and a VPI dry type transformer?
Cast resin windings are vacuum cast in epoxy so the winding is fully encapsulated, which suits humid, dusty and coastal environments. VPI windings are impregnated rather than encapsulated, which is lighter and generally cheaper but offers less protection against moisture.
Are cast resin transformers suitable for outdoor installation?
They can be installed outdoors with a suitable enclosure and IP rating, but they are most often chosen for indoor installation close to the load because there is no oil, no containment pit and no fire wall requirement.
What insulation classes do you offer?
Class F is standard for most industrial duty, with Class H available where ambient temperature or overload requirements call for a higher thermal margin.
What maintenance does a cast resin transformer need?
