Cast resin transformer technology encapsulates windings in epoxy resin under vacuum, providing superior moisture resistance, mechanical strength, and partial discharge performance. Our cast resin transformers are ideal for harsh and demanding environments.
Vacuum Casting Process
Our cast resin transformers are manufactured using a sophisticated vacuum casting process. The windings are dried under vacuum, then encapsulated in epoxy resin under vacuum to eliminate voids and ensure complete impregnation. The resin is then cured under controlled conditions to achieve optimal electrical and mechanical properties.
Epoxy Resin Formulation
We use high-quality epoxy resin formulations specifically developed for transformer applications. Our resin systems offer excellent dielectric strength, thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and resistance to moisture, chemicals, and UV radiation. The resin is filled with mineral fillers to improve thermal conductivity and reduce thermal expansion.
Thermal Management
Cast resin transformers require careful thermal management due to the lower thermal conductivity of epoxy resin compared to oil. Our designs incorporate optimized winding geometry, cooling ducts, and optional forced air cooling to ensure uniform temperature distribution and maintain operating temperatures within safe limits.
Environmental Advantages
Cast resin transformers offer significant environmental advantages including no flammable oil (eliminating fire risk and oil spill potential), no need for oil containment systems, low maintenance requirements, and recyclability at end of life. These advantages make cast resin transformers ideal for environmentally sensitive applications.
